One of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast, Budva was founded 2,500 years ago and retains a compact medieval walled old town on a rocky peninsula. Legend attributes its founding to Cadmus of Thebes from Greek mythology. The Montenegrin Riviera surrounding Budva offers 35 beaches along a dramatic coast.
