Located at the junction of the Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai rivers in western Thailand, Kanchanaburi is best known for the Bridge over the River Kwai and the infamous Death Railway built by Allied prisoners of war during World War II. The province also contains Erawan National Park with its seven-tiered emerald waterfall and some of Thailand's most pristine jungle.
