Koh Rong

Cambodia's second-largest island sits 25km off the coast of Sihanoukville in the Gulf of Thailand. Covered in dense jungle with 43km of white sand beaches, it remained largely uninhabited until the early 2000s. The island's waters produce bioluminescent plankton that glow electric blue at night — one of the few places in the world where this phenomenon occurs regularly.
