Built as a hill station by the French in the early 1900s at 1,500m elevation, Dalat is known as the 'City of Eternal Spring' for its cool climate. The city retains charming French colonial architecture, including a replica of the Eiffel Tower. Surrounded by pine forests, waterfalls, and flower gardens, it produces much of Vietnam's coffee, wine, and artichokes.
Dalat barely changes season: around 19°C most of the year.
There is a clear wet season from April – October, peaking in September with around 283 mm. The dry months run from January – February.
Wind is rarely an issue; most months sit between calm and a light breeze. Air quality is worth watching: April averages an AQI of 65, while December clears to 25.
