Jardín, in the Antioquia Andes, was declared a parish in 1871 and a town in 1882, and in 2012 Colombia named it a heritage town. Its main square is dominated by the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, a neo-Gothic church of hand-cut local stone, now a national monument. Coffee, plantain, sugarcane and beans are the main crops, and about 13,500 people lived in the municipality at the 2018 census. Two cable-car lines, completed in 2007, were built so villagers could reach town to sell goods, and now also carry visitors.
Nights sit around 15°C and afternoons around 23°C.
Jardín barely changes season: afternoons sit around 24°C and nights around 15°C most of the year.
It rains all year — about 2643 mm in total, from 304 mm in May down to 111 mm in January — so there is no dry stretch to aim for.
Wind is rarely an issue; most months sit between calm and a light breeze. Air quality is worth watching: February averages an AQI of 52, while November clears to 22.
Daylight is steady all year, around 12.0 hours a day.
No month in Jardín matches what you're after, so come for the place rather than the weather. Expect fast internet (64 Mbps) and a moderate cost of living (about €1300 a month).
